Federal Environmental Review and Authorization Inventory

The Federal Environmental Review and Authorization Inventory (Inventory) contains a comprehensive list of the Federal licenses, permits, approvals, findings, determinations, or other administrative decisions issued by a Federal agency that should be considered for inclusion in the permitting timetables for projects currently tracked on the Federal Infrastructure Permitting Dashboard. These include projects covered under Title 41 of the Fixing America’s Surface Transportation Act (FAST-41), Department of Transportation (DOT) projects subject to Titles I, IX, and XI of the FAST Act , and major infrastructure projects identified under Executive Order 13807. For each review or authorization, the Inventory includes a brief description, identifies the activities or circumstances that trigger the review, the sectors and project types to which it could be applicable, and the underlying statutes and/or regulations.

The Inventory was created as part of an ongoing effort to provide more consistent, coordinated, and predictable Federal environmental review and authorization timelines and foster better outcomes for the environment and the affected communities. Additional reviews and authorizations may be added to the Inventory in the future, as they are identified.
